This month, we’d like you to meet Cassie. If you’ve been at one of Goodwill’s Little Black Dress Fashion Shows, you might have seen her hiding behind a camera. We helped Cassie learn how to transition her wardrobe from a college kid’s closet to a creative professional career woman.
And, if you’d like to attend our next Little Black Dress Fashion Show to see Cassie in action as our photographer, join us on Thursday, April 12th at Century Center in South Bend, Indiana. Find out more and purchase your tickets at: GoodwillFashionShow.com
I am thrilled to introduce you to Rebecca. She is this month’s winner of the Goodwill Style Makeover! Rebecca has an inspiring story (that you’ll get to hear in a few weeks on this blog)… but before that, I wanted to meet with her and help her gain the “I CAN DO IT” kind of confidence to move toward her goals. And, sometimes, all that takes is being able to see yourself in a different way… sometimes it just takes a new outfit.
Check out Rebecca’s Style Makeover!

How often do you wonder WHAT TO WEAR? When you look at your closet, do you feel like nothing in your wardrobe matches the REAL you?
You are not alone.
Did you check out Christi’sStyle Makeover? Christi is in the middle of reinventing herself. Part of that is thinking about WHO she is on the inside, and matching that to who she is showing the world she is on the outside. After talking with Christi, we determined her current style wasn’t delivering the right message about her personality.
What is YOUR style saying about you? Wonder if the clothing you wear matches your personality, goals and perceived image? Take THIS QUIZto see if it might be time for a Style Makeover!

This month’s Style Makeover winner is Christi. Christi is a mom to a college-aged daughter. Like most moms with adult children, she found herself wondering who she was and felt ready to reinvent herself. We helped her define her fashion style to match who she is on the inside.
For some tips on how you can start to match who you are on the inside with the clothing you are wearing on the outside, check back in a few weeks! I’ll post a FREE DOWNLOAD tool to help you determine YOUR personal style!
In Pam’s Style Ambush Makeover, we saw how the right colors really made a big difference for her. And, as promised, here is a simple way for YOU to find out how to determine the best colors for your skin tone.
Of course, like all rules, there are exceptions. If you are still not sure what the best colors are for you, be sure to enter to be considered for our next Style Ambush Makeover – or contact me for your own personal Style Makeover Session (mention Goodwill in your inquiry, and receive $50 off of your Style Makeover Session!)
Last week, you saw how Joni was able to figure out what her style was with her Ambush Style Makeover. We helped her think about what details in clothing and outfits she likes and matched that theme with her personality.
This is ‘THE’ thing that troubles so many women, and seems to be at the crux of the “I have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear” syndrome. How do you match what you LIKE in outfits, with clothing that really shows who you are? So many times our closet is filled with pieces we really don’t like, or pieces that don’t reflect who we are.
Why does this happen? Well, I believe it is because as life goes on and changes, our shopping habits don’t change…but our taste in things does (and dare I say our personality changes as we mature). If we always seem to buy black pants and white tops, it’s hard for us to see (let alone try-on) anything but black pants and white tops. Defining WHAT you like is a good step in the right direction in helping you to notice all of the other options when you shop.
Personal style is a funny thing. Once we think we have it all figured out, it changes. Why?
According to our Fashion Guru, Kathy Friend – wardrobe stylist and image consultant, it is because we (as women) are always changing! Our personal style is simply an outward look at who we are as individuals. Our clothes tell the story of who we are. As our lives change, our story changes. For so many of us, our story and the image of our story (our clothes) don’t always match.
This is that fork-in-the road our first winner of the Goodwill Ambush Style Makeover found herself. See Joni’s story below, and her amazing style transformation!
