(South Bend, IN / January 30, 2012) – Goodwill strives to be good corporate citizens by seeking out new and innovative ways to keep unusable items out of the landfill. Last year, Goodwill was able to keep just under 16,000,000 pounds out of the landfill by utilizing alternative methods to dispose of items that do not sell or cannot be sold in the stores. The chart below shows the poundage from the various categories that were recycled.
