(South Bend, IN / February 3, 2010) – Goodwill Industries of Michiana, Inc. is pleased to announce their three-year accreditation awarded by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). This acknowledgment recognizes exceptional performance in the categories: Employment Services: Community Services. Job Development, Job Support, Job-Site Training and Employment Services Coordination. Founded in 1966, CARF establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services. “We’re thrilled to receive a three-year accreditation for the sixth consecutive time which is the highest award given be CARF. It confirms that our programs and staff meet the highest standards of performance to receive this award. We completed a rigorous peer review process with a team of independent on-site surveyors to achieve this accreditation,” states Debie Coble, Vice President of Workforce Development Services. CARF surveyors cited, “That Goodwill Industries of Michiana has a very dedicated board and management team. Leadership sets a direction for the program, which is guided by sound values and a purpose-driven mission.” That mission is to: provide jobs, training and placement services for people with barriers to employment. Goodwill began providing workforce development services in 1975. Today, Goodwill has 15 Workforce Development Services Offices throughout North Central and Northwest Indiana.
