(South Bend, IN / January 25, 2010) – Employees at Goodwill Industries of Michiana, Inc. know that giving is often better than receiving.  With the most critical need for the Haiti earthquake victims being cash, employees began a fund drive. Goodwill customers were given the opportunity to participate in the fund drive at the twenty-one Goodwill Retail Stores located throughout Northern Indiana, Lansing, Ill and Niles, MI on Friday, January 22nd and Saturday, January 23rd.   Goodwill’s corporate office in South Bend matched these contributions dollar for dollar.  The American Red Cross St. Joseph County Chapter will receive $7,502.84 and these funds are designated to assist earthquake victims of Haiti.  “Offering programs and services is what we do and Goodwill is always looking for donations of clothing, books and household items to further our own mission of providing jobs, training and placement services for people with barriers to employment.  I once again applaud the generosity of our employees and the citizens of all the communities we serve.” said, J.
