(South Bend, IN / December 13, 2007) – Indiana Rehabilitation Association (IRA) held its annual awards ceremony at Easterseals/Crossroads Rehabilitation Center in Indianapolis on Thursday, November 29, 2007 with 35 people in attendance.

Melissa Stolfo, current President for IRA presented the President’s Award - For Outstanding Services to Persons with Disabilities to Verna Kubisiak, Director, Support Services-Workforce Development Service at Goodwill Industries of Michiana, Inc., South Bend.  Verna began her career at Goodwill in 1978 and provides service assistances to Workforce Development staff serving individuals with disabilities and disadvantages.  She also interacts and assists individuals in the many programs Goodwill provides.  Verna is truly an asset to her department for the many years she has been with Goodwill. 

IRA is a state chapter of the National Rehabilitation Association (NRA) an advocacy, legislation watchdog group for people with disabilities.

Carson’s Soule of Indianapolis Bartlow Slater Leadership Award
Brett Neylon – of Brownsburg, IN - Beacon Award – an out standing act and acting as a Beacon to individuals with disabilities

Becky Ramer of Jeffersonville IN, - Fairbairn Award – for outstanding training and employment placement of individuals with disabilities.
